Technical Lead - Javascript (Games)
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide technical support and guidance within the games department
- Develop and maintain tools to support development and operations
- internal studios to build games on the RGP platform.
- Maintain the VCS and build tools used within the development studio
- Mentor and support members of the development studio to develop their technical abilities
- Carry out technical reviews to ensure technical expectations are met and guidelines followed
- Assess games during pre-production to ensure technical costs are understood and risks are
- highlighted
- Provide guidance to art-workers, designers and producer to help them understand how
- animations should be built and what is possible
- Create automation tooling and dashboards for capturing and monitoring game metrics
- Ensure technical documents are accurate and up to date
- Continuously improve the technical processes used within development studio
Technical Requirements:
- Strong Javascript skills and appreciation of the Javascript ecosystem
- Excellent Technical Writing skill with experience creating technical documentation
- Good knowledge of optimisation techniques for mobile web
- Ability to design and communicate complex technical solutions
- Hands on experience developing client-side mobile applications and games
- Excellent understanding of software development processes such as TDD, BDD and Unit
- Testing
- Experience with continuous delivery, integration and build technologies
- Working knowledge of git ideally with GitHub experience
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies, e.g. Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc
- Experience with 3D technologies and pipelines highly desirable
