Art Director - UE5

I am looking for a transformative individual to fill the business critical role of ‘Art Director’ at an ambitious and well-funded Munich studio that are aspiring to achieve AAA status with their flagship survival RPG title. You’ll be responsible for shaping the visual identity of the game, creating an immersive and breathtaking experience for players around the world whilst collaborating with the existing team of artists, designers, and developers to craft a unique and unforgettable world, leveraging the full potential of Unreal Engine 5 and the latest cutting-edge technologies.

My client understands the importance of this role and subsequently are willing to offer a relocation package as well as generous salary and share options. The studio’s existing team are multinational and communicate in English but proficiency in German would be seen as a huge plus along with previous experience with AAA titles and a profound knowledge of UE5 and its intricacies.

• Develop and lead the overall artistic vision for the game project
• Collaborate with the game design team to integrate survival RPG and city-building mechanics seamlessly
• Manage and guide a team of talented artists to deliver high-quality art assets
• Stay ahead of the curve in gaming technology and leverage the power of Unreal Engine 5
• Establish an efficient and collaborative workflow between the art and development teams
• Communicate the visual direction to internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Art Director or Lead Artist in the gaming industry
• Expertise in Unreal Engine 5 and game art pipelines
• Passion for survival RPGs and city-building games
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proactive, adaptive, and solution-oriented mindset
